Honoring Our Queendom—The Crown Jewel, My Beautiful (and I mean, inside and out) Aunt Shirley, whom I’ve the fortune to favor in every way—she was always welcoming, giving, sharing, supporting, loving, laughing, justa singing and dancing, sewing, oh, she loved to cook, too, and did I mention, shopping. Growing up, I did everything with My Favorite Aunt Shirley, whom with such a good heart, took such loving care of me, while The Wild Woman was on the road. My Momma and I have always said, we are both lucky to have had Shirley!

Funny, My Aunt Shirley and I seemed always…in the kitchen; she cooked lovingly, without dread…everyday; Sunday breakfasts are amongst my fondest memories at the table with family, complete with hardy laughter and robust conversations and likely why it still is such a joy for me to cook and prepare My Brunch Experiences for my guests—A dedication to My Favorite Aunt Shirley! My Momma, aka Sissy, once said to me, “If I wasn’t there to birth you in witness myself, I would swear you were Shirley’s baby! Everybody thought you were Shirley’s child!” For I am a clone of My Aunt Shirley; I even walk like her! I often giggle in memory; I mean, my whole being smiles thankfully, having been raised by such a good soul and, now, just thinking of her. I believe she would approve of this dedication to her/our natural beauty with a wall gallery of images honoring Our Queendom.

SHIRLEY’S ROOM features queen-size bed (sleeps 2) with pillowy accents of Teal & Peacock Blues & Karats of Copper & Gold with shared full bath.

AccommOdations INCLUDE:

• One of Three Standard-Size Guest Rooms — Eloquently appointed with queen-size bed, goose down-stuffed duvet comforter, soft bamboo sheets, 100% cotton towels, plush fleece bathrobes, warm welcoming toiletry tray and with full bath

• Kitchen — Access to full kitchen—except, no cooking on the stove top—and guests are fully responsible for cleaning up after themselves. NOTE: Breakfast is NOT included with room rate(s); though, Breakfast Options are available with advanced notice. Complimentary Help-Yourself Continental is available throughout your stay. • Morning/TV Room — As there are no TVs in my guest rooms, this room is cozy and comfortable and in the mornings, put your feet up and sip a cup of coffee in the warm sun

• Formal Dining/Meeting Room — Fit for grandeur, comfortably serves up to 10 guests (seated) for one of my 5-Star Private Dining Experiences—at charge by reservation only

• Living/Drawing Room Galleria — Warm and inviting with master chess table, games and lots of nostalgic photos and African-American history

• Outdoor Balcony/Deck — Private backyard deck and scenic front balcony with gorgeous sunsets, views of National Harbor, MGM, Woodrow Wilson Bridge and across the bridge into Alexandria, VA, not to mention, random fireworks display off the bank of the Potomac River at National Harbor
