I'll be straight, a veggie smoothie doesn't even sound right to me! But, at my age (56), I KNOW that I need to be better about getting some healthy greens inside of me. So, I asked Grannie if she could make a vegetable smoothie that I could drink daily, and well, if you know Grannie, she got busy with her research and produced for us a powerhouse combination of healthy smoothie drinks: Breakfast, Fruit, Bean and now, Grannie's Veggie Smoothie!
Grannie's Vegetable Smoothie
Grannie's vegetable smoothies are action-packed and most often include: Spinach, Kale, Cabbage, Carrots, Beets, Celery, Ginger, Mushrooms, Avocado, Tomatoes, Bell Peppers and any other vegetable you'd like to throw in the mix. The plan is to get the healthy stuff into my system in one glass full everyday! Truly, I don't as much care about the taste of it, but Grannie does add a little honey or orange/mango juice to make it more palattable.
I mean, think about it: How likely are you to eat all those fruits in vegetables in one day? My solution, Grannie's Veggie Smoothie. So, I get my fruit, vegetables, beans, seeds and oats in everyday with Grannie's Smoothies! And, I'll share something else with you, I've lost about 30 pounds in the last three years, slowly dropping, just from digesting healthier foods!
